Job Role: Technical Representative and Sales Support (FT)

Job vacancy: Technical Representative and Sales Support - Run (37.5 hours) Location: Sheffield-based with UK-wide travel expected. Strictly no recruitment agencies. Direct application only.

The Role

As a Technical Representative, you’ll lead and deliver field support across your territory, working with retailers, supporting sales initiatives, and bringing our brands to life in the real world.

You’ll play a key role in:

  • Growing market share

  • Building brand awareness and loyalty

  • Supporting product launches and retail activations

  • Representing our brands at major UK trail, ultra, and outdoor events

This is a highly varied, people-focused role combining sales support, marketing activation, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field support across Independent, Key, and Multi-door retail accounts UK-wide

  • Support Sales and Marketing teams with:

    • Product launches

    • In-store merchandising

    • Grassroots activations

  • Deliver successful sell-through initiatives and in-store promotions

  • Educate and inspire retailers and consumers on product features and innovations

  • Act as the “eyes and ears” of the brand:

    • Monitor competitors

    • Share market insights

    • Flag opportunities and challenges

  • Provide feedback and reporting to Sales Director on performance and initiatives

  • Represent Beta Outdoor Sports at:

    • Running and climbing events

    • Trade shows (e.g. National Running Show)

    • Consumer outdoor events

Manage event presence including setup, branding, demos, and customer interaction

About You

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, personable, and passionate about the outdoor industry.

Essential

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships

  • Confident working independently and as part of a team

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to think strategically and understand wider business impact

  • Willingness to travel extensively and work weekends when required

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Retail experience (sports industry preferred)

  • Marketing or sales experience within the sports/outdoor industry

  • Knowledge of:

    • Retail operations and merchandising

    • Performance footwear/apparel

    • Biomechanics and injury prevention

    • Local running communities (clubs, events, coaches, retailers)
